Hi all,

I would like to take a Quicktime file(video and sound) and put it onto a CD-R to be played on my DVD player. I have Quicktime Pro, if that would help at all.

What software can I use to easily put the QT film onto a CD for my DVD player? Cheaper is better.

(I'm running OS 10.3, with a CD burner)

Thanks in advance.

That would be VCD format MPEG-1 then. Toast is probably the easiest way, but that costs money. You can also try ffmpegX, but that requires a bit of more work as ffmpegX doesn't do CD burning. You can also search Google for more info.

Could I simply drag&drop the output file onto a CD and burn that with the OS, or do I need special software for burning it? My guess is that I would need special software so the that CD's data is indexed in such a way that a DVD player can read it.

Thanks for any advice.

Yep, you'll need separate software for burning. You can have a look at Firestarter FX, I haven't used it myself, but it says it can burn VCDs.

draw the frames real small on the CD-R and then spin it on your finger
