I have an iMAC G4 and would like to connect the machine to my Technics reciever to play my iTunes playlists. The Apple store sold me an iCable to connect to the back of the G4 and thence to the reciever. I am at a loss for the next steps to take. Do I unplug my external speakers. The back of the reciever has plug spaces for Phono, DVD, DSS,VCR and Tape Deck. Perplexed.
You'd connect the mini-plug side of the cable to the iMac's headphone jack and the red/white end to any of your receiver's free inputs (except PHONO). I'd choose the tape-deck in. Just make sure that input is selected on your receiver.
