Hi,
I just thought we might like to know about a very useful service I found when I was faced with a complete nightmare. They saved my neck.
Scenario:
I was just completing the final mix on a new short movie, everything was going to plan and the deadline looked like it would be meet. As normal I was working with huge audio files (about 110 gig)within Pro tools and a pretty big movie file, lots of plugins and automation.
We had 3 days left to complete the project when I got a call from a very worried and stressed director telling me that we needed to have the film finished in 1 day otherwise his and my hard work would of been a complete waste of time. To cut along storey short the film was due to be shown at a conference in France. It was scheduled for the last day but had to be brought forward due to varies uncontrollable factors.
I stupidly agreed ok I will get it down, then realised that even if I could get it done in time how would I get it to France in time for the show. My normal methods would be of no use as a courier normally takes at least a day and this production had to definitely arrive in one piece.
I started to trawl the net and came across various file transfer services. I discovered a company called Medialaundry. They use Digidelivery servers to transfer any file anywhere. I had seen light at the end of the tunnel.
I worked my butt off got the film finished and dropped medialaundry a mail just to make sure they were up to the job. They advised this is exactly what they specialise in and advised I sign up straight away. I signed up for an account and within 30 mins my film was on it's way to France. It was so easy to use especially as I was a por tools user.
Anyway I thought as they saved me from a very embarrassing situation I would shout about it as they could help 100's of us.
THANK YOU
Medialaundry
