trying to find the best value for a mini dv cam for macro and architectural ( wide angle) filming with good lences. Cost of initial purchase compared on all brands. Compactnes and weight are important criteria.

I'm afraid, that price range is more the basic consumer level. a camcorder with interchangeable lenses as a Canon XL1 or whatever is high in the 2k€ range - but it has much more possibilties using special optics like for photography (macros with ring lights, socalled "shift optics" for archtectural shots etc)
