I've got a 'Panasonic RR-QR240 Handheld Voice Recorder'




the question I would like to ask any knowledgeable folks is
can I record the voice messages from the panasonic to my
powerbook ?



I have a headphone to headphone cable,( stereo 3.5mm jack lead
to stereo 3.5mm jack lead -male to male ) can sound pass between
them using this and is there any software that could capture the
sound if it does?

It's pretty easy. Assuming that your powerbook has a mike jack, all you need is a sound recorder/editor to capture the audio, and to edit it if you want. Here are a couple different ones:

Sound Studio - this comes free with most macs sold in the last 2 years. Check to see if you're powerbook has it.

Amadeus

Audacity - this is your best bet. It's free.

Peak LE - more powerfull than the 3 previous ones. Free trial available, full version is around 70$.

Just plug in your cable to the mike jack and fire up one of these recorders to record.
