hi,

i am in the market to get a tft monitor. it will be used with a powermac.

i do not play games on my computer and only use it for work (internet, documents, multimedia/graphics based stuff, dvds).

i would like a 24-bit / 16.7 million colour display as i work with images, designing various things and video. this is most likely to give the best colour.

budget can range from £200-330 ish

i would like either a 17" or 19".

the most important thing is clarity - be it for text or images or videos. the colours have to look right as possible.

any recommendations?

i have been mainly looking at LG and Sony 17" and 19" models as they seem to offer 16.7 million colours. Also some Viewsonics and Samsung.

thanks,

Take a look at Dell's offerings. I own a video production company and have 2 of the 20" widescreens.. the 2005FPW, but the 2001FPW as well as their 19" offering are pretty good deals.

That article is too old, and the Dells aren't even compared.

Hi, I just got a Princeton LCD19D 19" monitor for $299 after $100 rebate, very clear and easy on the eys. Great specs also. I got mine from ecost.com, clubmac has them too. Text is crisp and colors excellent, exceeds the Powerbook screen and Microtek and Megavision monitors I am very familiar with. I have spent a few hours adjusting each one both on screen and in Preferences/Displays, choosing 'Color'
