Im a newbie and am looking fo the simplest way to capture DV. Specifically, I have a Canopus ADVC 55 and want to record broadcast TV and burn to DVD. Doing this through iMovie - iDVD - and then Toast just seems long winded and time consuming to archive the occassional TV show/footy game.
What are other guys doing?
Thanks

Grant

Why do you need Toast? In general, iApps are the simplest way to do this stuff, and you only go elsewhere if you want to get fancy (like better compression or MPEG-2 direct capture or something)

There is now a "Onestep DVD" function in iDVD 5. It skips the iMovie capture part, if you don't need a menu. I haven't try it yet, but apparently it works nice.

I believe that Toast Titanium has a feature very similar to that.

Give it a try.
