such a thing as DVD-R DL?

I only seem to find DVD+R DL media out there. I just bought a Pioneer A08XL (the DVR-108, I guess. I hate the multiple names) and it lists speeds for DVD+R DL as 4x. I ask because +R seems much less compatible than -R in my experience.

As of right now, no, the only DL DVD writable standard is +R.
