I must admit I'm kind of disappointed. I should have done more research before buying this product. It does work and I'm using it with OS X 2.8! What I would like to be able to do... replace my VCR. I have a 4 year old Power Mac Sawtooth upgraded to 1.2 via Sonnet Encore (really snappy now). I wanted to be able to watch TV on my Power Mac and also Record to my hard drive. Now maybe I'm not being fair to this product. I'm not runinnin it in OS X version 3. I'm still stuck in 10.2.8 I'm eargerly awaiting the new shipment of the OS X version 4 and will probably upgrade then.

I'm very confused about video codec's but I'm gettin there. I would like to capture some VHS archives on to a DVD that will play in any DVD player with Almost no loss in quality. This means full-screen. Come to think of it. That's how I want everything that record to be. It should look good. this card allows me to watch TV fine except in full screen mode. It's pluggins are buggy like the one that allows me to make chapters and burn it to DVD. The one that lets me edit is strange to. I can make edits but when I go to save... it crashes. Now before I foam at the mouth about it... I'm understanding that my OS is not supported and they actually say that alot of features won't work right in OS X (prev to v3) The question I have is does this product work better in OS X version 3? I mean maybe the plextor would be better for me as it has the built in hardware encoding. I like te remote and it wouldn't be bad if it just worked. It's processor intensive as it relies on QuickTime to do the encoding. I'm not too interested in messing with Mpeg 4 at this time (unless I won't loose quality capturing it in Mpeg 4 and burnging a DVD with i-DVD as I would starting in Mpeg 2.)

Is this possible with this card? Does anybody use it?
