How to recover the disk space on a mp3 player?

	It's not a iPod, just a regular mp3 player. I hooked it up with my computer and deleted some songs on my desktop.... and then i realized that I shouldn't do that. The disk space is just gone, but the files doesn't show anymore. Apparently i can only delete the files on the mp3 player itself. now how can I recover the loss disk space through my computer?
