Hey everyone. I was curious if there are any apps that will remove lyrics from music. I'd like to have some songs for karaoke purposes, etc. I know there were a few apps that I used on Windows a couple years ago that did it (albeit crappy), or is there a method I can use to eliminate them with GarageBand (doubtful) or Apple Logic?

I doubt I can TOTALLY eliminate the lyric track, but I know its possible to get pretty close. If anyone can shed some insight on this problem, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks!

only way I do know is form the analogue ages

in most cases, the singer is positioned in the stereophonic spectrum right in the middle; therefore, if you change the polarity of ONE channel and make a mix down, you use the effect of interference - both signals will wipe out each other.

But, modern music adds lots of echos/reverbs/room simulations into the stereo signal, you will hear the singer still "from aside".

I'm not sure, but I think the free tool Audicity offer such a feature…-

If you're recording, then just leave the vocals on a separate track (duh). But I'm assuming you're trying to remove the vocals from an mp3 or something and that will be much harder to do. There's probably some expensive VST plug-ins that will do this but it won't be perfect. Once you create the final mix-down it's very hard to remove/edit instruments from the song.
