I think I messed up. In an attempt to convert my VHS movies to DVD I bought a Sima VHS to DVD Enhancer thinking I could transfer my VHS tapes using my old player/recorder into my iMac. Well it just came in (about the same time it dawned on me) that the only input into my mac is USB or Firewire. This contraption uses RCA cables and S-video i believe. What was I thinking. Is there any recourse for me short of sending it back? What do I need to get this job done and not spend an arm and a leg?

I have a SONY VIDEO Hi8 . Will that do?

If it's a Digital 8, it will do. Just check if there's a firewire (small 4 pins connector) on the camcorder. Sony refers to it as iLink.
