First of all machinima if you have not heard of it is pretty much using a video game to "act out" a movie. Excellent example of it is the red vs. blue series.

Back to subject. Just got the G5 rig about a week ago and want to put the cpus to some creative use. Snapz Pro seems to do fine of capturing the video part for me (Using World of Warcraft as the game) iMovie seems to fit my needs right now in editing. However, I am looking for some advice on how to record a voice track.

I dont need anything professional, just something that will work for getting the dialog recorded. I saw it had an analog audio in port. Tried that with a headset mic. Din't work so I looked it up online, seems it needs an "amped" mic input.

So should I just head to Radio Shack and pick up a powered mic? Or would a USB solution be a better chioce.

The goal of me doing this is to "Get my feet wet" once again with editing and to entertain myself and some friends. Like I said, not looking for professional sound, but dont want 2 soup cans tied together with a string either.

Thanks in advance.
