another widescreen question!

I imported the video in FCE using DV-PAL as the easy setup setting, am now trying to export the movie using mpeg-2 codec after editing.

If I export the master clip and use 16:9, the m2v files looks just fine, there is no letter box whatsoever. But when I exported a sequence which has some video transitions effects using the same setting (16:9), the video got squished! The exported movie is still in 16:9 format but with letterbox at the top and bottom.....

Have I done anything wrong here??

EDIT:
When I view the sequence in Canvas window, it shows letterbox, is this the reason? and how do I remove the letterbox from Canvas window?
