I had this set up in panther, but i've erased the drive for tiger:

I have multiple users who share one music library on our power mac. In panther i set up a system alias via Terminal so that each user's library points to /users/shared/iTunes/. a regular alias [apple-L] does not do the trick per se. We all want to share the same playlists, play counts and music. the iTunes .xml rests in the shared folder, that's where we grab the info from. (compared to multiple .xml 's in each of our music folders.)

Again, i had this in panther but forgot how to set it up again. what do you have to type in Terminal to do this?

have you got this still working with iTunes 6? I'm having troubles. I'm able to share iPhoto between users, but not iTunes.
