I need to make a slideshow which will be projected by a beamer with 768x1024 actual pixels.
The photos I am using are high-res scans (10 megapixel) from artistic line-drawings with lots of details. So any video output that does not make use of the full beamer resolution (768x1024) would NOT be acceptable, because of too much loss of detail. Normal TV resolution is by far not enough here...
I think for this I need to feed the beamer directly from the computer (instead of from a DVD player)?? But how to setup/export for 768x1024 resolution (and which programs to use for this)
For composing the slideshow, I would prefer using the software Picture to Movie, because you can animate the slides there in certain ways. If you only know about a way for high-res slideshows that are static, that's fine as well.
I am working on a Mac G4 cube (450GHZ/733RAM), next week I will have a G5 (2x2GHZ/1000RAM). A part from IMovie and Picture to Movie, I have After Effects 6.5, Final Cut Pro and DVD studio Pro as well (but I am a beginner in these programs), if that helps.
The deadline for my project is approaching so fast, I am very thankful for every step-by-step answer.

What's your question? You say you want to use Picture to Movie, so why don't you?

QTPro can import image sequences to make a slideshow-style movie. I've never done it though. It will save you a lot of hassle and delay over using some software that always thinks it's editing a normal movie.

Uncle Skeleton: If you don't mind, please read again what I wrote.
The question is: How can I make a digital slideshow which has FULL 768x1024 pixel resolution?
It's about the resolution! (It's NOT about how to make a slideshow in general.)

This problewm is really driving me nuts. I've already asked a few professional video artist amongst my friends and they couldn't answer me this. I already research since a week for this, I guess it's really not such an easy problem as it seems. So please if you answer me, try ro be as specific as possible, because u know the devil is in the detail...
Thanks.

There is nothing resolution dependant about QTPro, just use images that are the resolution you want. I don't know about Picture to Movie.

What's wrong with using something like Apple Keynote? That allows full rez output.
