Hey, I'm going to be doing the videography for my Church's Vacation Bible School this year, I'm gona be buying Final Cut Express HD (gota love student discounts) and I have with me now a bunch of VCDs of last year's stuff that the guy who did it last year burned... any idea how I could get the actual footage off and into a format FCE will be able to use when I buy it?

My recommendation, if at all possible, is to get the original footage on DV. If that's not possible and all you have is the VCDs (who uses VCDs anymore? ) do it through an Analog->Digital converter like the Canopus or the Dazzle DV bridge, or through a DV camera via analog in and firewire out. What's the format on the VCD--MPEG-4?
Plato--what's a "Chickie Run"?

I think it's just MPEG... I would like the original DV footage as well but I think it's been deleted... I"m guessing though last year's work might have been done in Premier or less... oh well, I just need to get footage of some kids playing I can just phone around in the church and get a bunch of the parents to let me get shots of their kids playing on a play structure... maybe have it plugged in at the end of the service...
(Note, the lady running the VBS wants a shot of a bunch of kids playing)
