Good substitute for WMP?!

I've been trying to find a good player for WMV files. Downloaded MPlayer, and the audio plays, but no video pops up. WMP OSX works OK, but it's choppy and hogs up my system compared to Quicktime. Unfortunately, most of the E3 footage on IGN is WMV. Any good players out there?
Specs:12" PowerBook-1.33GHz, 768 PC2700, Airport Express, Panther (10.3.9), iSight, 15GB 3G iPod
