Just wondering if and how to export a final cut pro movie to a mini DV using a camera

Actually, I use FC Express, but I assume Pro is the same. You just connect the camera to your Mac via Firewire, and then select "Print to Video" on the File menu. The process is pretty much automatic, and you're given menu choices to add Bars & tone, slate and coundown leader at the beginning of the transfer. Also, you can print just part of a sequence by setting in and out points before you select "print."

This is usually the preferred form of output for anything that's going to be shown in a theater or on TV. They can either run from the DV tape itself or, especially with a lot of theater rigs, transfer the DV to Beta.
