Hi,
I recently bought a cd of background music to sing to and I was wondering if there was any program out there that will let me adjust the song so it's in a better key for me? I tried using garageband 2.0 but it won't let me adjust an mp3. If I recorded the song a diferent way into garageband would that work? Any advise would be appreciated.

I haven't used Garageband much, but it does let you change the key/pitch of audio tracks, so just take your MP3 and convert it into an AIFF using Itunes, for example. Then just import that AIFF into Garageband, and you should be able to do what you seek.

I tried converting in garageband, but it still won't let me adjust the pitch. I'll try one of those other programs like audacity and see if that works.

Well, the results show that amadeus II works best for something like this. Just in case anyone else has this problem they can reference this thread. Amadeus does only work with aiff files (if you're importing) so make sure to convert in itunes instead of just importing the mp3.
