I'm using Final Cut Express to capture digital video and the audio from my digital video camera. It seems to work perfectly sometimes, then other times the video and audio are out of sync by about 1 second or so. When I play back the stream while its on the camera, everything works fine. Even during capture the video in the capture window is synced with the audio coming out of the camera speaker. When I play back the captured stream in the viewer, the audio and video seem to get out of sync. Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

Thanks,
Bruce

First check to see if your camera is recording audio in 12 bit audio. That can really muck things up during transfers to the computer. Make sure the camera is set to 16 bit audio first before you record.
Quicksilver 867, 700mhz iBook, 1st Gen iPod, iSight, Newton 2100, and a 128k Mac. All operating and used on a constant Basis

In case this happens to anyone else, I discovered the problem. While I was filming there were times when I powered off the camera as I changed locations. When I was capturing the DV with Final Cut Express, I captured right on through those power off points. Anything captured after the power off point ended up being out of sync. I just had to stop the capture before the power off point, then start up the capture again on the other side of the power off point. Everything ended up being in sync.
