Customizing chapter thumbnails in iDvd?

Hello,

So after a few months of playing with Final Cut, I'm ready to burn a few DVD's.

I've been exploring iDvd today and it seems relatively straight forward. I'm importing a chapter marked quicktime file from FCP in, and it preserves all the chapters perfectly.

However, I'm not crazy about the thumbnails that it creates for the chapters. Since many of my segments fade in from black, most of the thumbnails are well.... black. I'd like to take stills from later in the segment and use those as the thumbnails instead.

Is it possible to do this in idvd and I haven't come across the option yet?

I know I could change the marker positions, but some times the shot I'd like to use is in the middle of the action, so it doesn't make much sense to do it that way.

Thanks for any help.

From your FCP project you could export the exact stills you want to use as thumbnails for your DVD. Then in iDVD just replace the automaticaly generated chapter marker thumbnails by those exported from your FCP project. Maybe it`s the long way, but you get maximum control.

Right. What I'm asking is how do I replace the automatically generated chapter marker thumbnails in iDvd? seems like you should be able to, I just don't know how to. <

If I'm understanding this correctly, just drag the still on top of the button.
