Has anyone come across a codec that will decode MPEG4 Advanced Simple Profile? I'm trying to stream from an Axis 213 PTZ camera which uses this MPEG4 profile. Quicktime won't decode it. I also tried with the Divx and 3ivx codecs and it didn't work. My only luck has been with VLC for decoding the stream and transcoding it.
what is the file format? if it's something that uses fourCCs (mov, avi, etc), the divx or 3ivx codecs may be able to decode but may just not recognize the fourCC. Also, what's wrong with using VLC?
All I know is it's the Advanced Simple Profile. What I want to do is take the camera's MPEG4 stream and stream it to Darwin Streaming Server. Darwin Streaming Server won't relay the stream. I believe it's because the stream is the Advanced Provile but it could also be because the camera only does Multicast streaming.
