My first post didn't work for some reason.

I have a 2 hour movie in the form of a 900mb .mov file and I have been trying to convert it into a regular DVD. I first used Toast 6 to turn it into a dvd image file, however that was around 8gb. I used Popcorn to shrink it, however there were two problems with the end result:

1. It was VERY pixelated. I guess that comes from halving the size of an already compressed video. However is there are more efficient program to shrink it?

2. Despite the original file being 16x9 the end result was a letterboxed 4x3 DVD.

Any advice is welcome

try using idvd...
i think it accepts .mov files and will compress it properly...
however, if possible, try to get that video into an uncompressed format...i myself do some editing and each time i have to export something into video, it goes as uncompressed.....i let idvd or dvd studio pro do all the work in compressing...

Would iDVD keep the correct 16:9 ratio or would it also turn it into a 4:3 DVD? I have iLife '04.
