I have a CD that I ordered from Germany that I have been unable to import into iTunes...the songs are just blank on a Mac or PC, sound "scrambled" on QuickTime Pro, but play fine on any CD player.

Any advice?

Ok, forget that I said "Germany" and "scrambled"...

How can I import a protected CD into iTunes?

(Should've just asked that in the first place)

copyprotected Cds is a big issues here... many people return the discs immidiately, because it is not an audio-cd standard!

two ways:
try the oldest Mac you have! esp. the old Yamaha drives (SCSII connected!!), e.g. in a PowerMac 7200 are able to override the modern copyprotections.......

2) import analogue: connect cd player via audio-converter (iMic etc) and import into Mac....

Plan B) Kaazaa, torrent, Poisoned....................... :-(

YOu could also use Wiretap Pro or Audio HiJack and record the tracks.

no, because these "discs" don't play in a computer! you can see the tracks in finder, but it is not possible to play any.... so, at first you need some analogue-to-usb converter thingy... as the mentioned iMic..... and use your external standalone cd player.....

I've got a few "copy controlled" disks. I just took an older cdrom drive and slapped it into a cheap external firewire case and its read anything I have tossed in it.

Well, if they said it was an audio CD, they lied and owe you a refund for a defective product. So return it and buy the music without copy prevention at Allofmp3 or somewhere similar.

Great site. Was a steal at $0.01 per megabyte, still a good deal at $0.02....especially if you like out of print 80's stuff from Europe
