My current speakers are oldish (but good) Altec Lansing ADA855's.

I'm trying to hook them up to an airport express. Using a 1/8" to 1/8" male to male cable, I only get sound out of one speaker. So, I figure I need to use a S/PDIF to 1/8". Does the AirPort Express Stereo Connection Kit with Monster Cables do this for me?
