I have a Logitech 350 USB Headset (and had another Logitech USB headset) and have had the same problem since 10.4.2. and including 10.4.3.:

If I put my computer to sleep and awaken it, the USB audio will not work...it will be silent. I can reenable it by opening "Audio MIDI Setup", selecting the mute option for the headset, then unmuting it. It works then, but the audio levels are low, so I then drag the left and right volume slider within "Audio MIDI Setup" to restore the volume levels. Annoying.

Does anyone lese experience this? I have to assume the answer is "yes" since this is a driverless device (e.g. the OS provides the driver). Oh, and Detour no longer works with 10.4.3. Grrrrr.

Thanks for any advice.

Did your device say it supported OS X when you bought it? No. Should you then expect for it to work? No.

Buy a supported device That says OS X on the box and you probably would have updated drivers ;-)

Yes, my device supports OS X...why would I buy something that did not? Thanks for the useless reply...

Logitech tech support says they have to release an updated driver. You shouldn't updated your OS when using devices such as logitech or kensington, or anything usb audio. Why? Because the companies that make these devices rarely update their drivers and often things get broken. Apple probably fixed a bug, which in turn plugged a hole or security issue that the logitech driver was taken advantage of... or maybe you don't have the driver installed? Is there a driver you could install that they offer?

The exception is if the device uses Core Audio like my USB Mixing Board. No drivers.
