easiest way to trim a song?

I'm sure there's an easy way to do this -- just not sure what. I need to trim the first 30 seconds or so from "Circle of Life," for timing reasons. This is for my daughter to use as background (we have a karaoke version we found at Best Buy) for a school Variety Show. I want to rip the song, easy enough, and then trim out the beginning. Than, I'll need to rebun the whole song to a new CD.

If I were making a movie, I'd know how to do this, but what's the easiest way to do this for an audio file? I have the "included" stuff like itunes and imovie, and also have Audio Hijack Pro, plus whatever comes with Toast ( version 6, though).

Any qucik help? Thanks.

I think you can do it with iTunes, if you show info on the file and under one of the other options there should be settings for start and stop. After setting the time you re-encode into a new file.

Haven't had a chance to try, as I've been working. I have garageband, too. I'll try within a few hours. It seems like it should be easy, I will say. I just wasn't sure how to go abotu it.

I ended up using audio hijack -- ripped the song, then made a new recording starting about 30 seconds into it. It seems to have worked well. And now that it's done, I may mess around with trying it with itunes, in the interest of learning something useful.

Thanks for the help.
