MacNN ran an item yesterday, "Apple poised to take over living room". In the discussion there was a good deal of talk about how, to become a home media hub, the Apple Mac would have to have something like Tivo. I am a novice, but what about Elgato's EyeTV? Is there something I'm missing here? I use EyeTV to watch and record TV on my desktop. If I bought the new Front Row enabled iMac I could imagine having that in my kitchen sitting area as a TV. I do not have and do not expect to have a large screen TV but wouldn't a Front Row enabled mini in combination with EyeTV and a widescreen satisfy more or less anyone? Or would a screen that large require a G5 type desktop?
I am deeply intrigued and interested in the new iMac solution even though I REALLY wish it came in more colors. Your thoughts appreciated.
