How does Apple do its full-motion screen captures...

...for its online product demos, which feature high-quality zooms and pans? Do they use Snapz Pro at full-screen resolution, then do the zooms & pans in Motion? Do they simply output the screen action straight to a hardware video recorder (in the interest of pure speed), and then do the zooms & pans in Motion? Do they have some secret app that has Camtasia-like functionality, with features Snapz Pro doesn't offer? Or is there another OS X app with this functionality that I'm not aware of?
