Hi,

I bought a Yamaha HT5730 receiver and I plan to hitch upa DVD player and a JVC 158 CD changer to it with coaxial and toslink cables. Can anyone please recommend good interconnect cables that are not expensive, perhaps in the $30-$40 range?

Thank you.

I bought a coaxial digital cable from bluejeanscable.com for $18 :

and a Dayton fiber optic digital cable from :

Seems like good products for the money.

I bought a 6' toslink cable and a 6' HDMI to DVI video cable from these folks, together both cost me less than that.

I should have bought both cables from the same place, it would have saved me money on shipping. I guess I'm a little anxious to get it set up. Been into audio for decades and CDs for a decade but am new to digital. I'm curious to see what the difference will be between digital and analog. The HTR5370 will replace an Adcom GTP-350 Preamp Tuner and an NAD 214 amp.

Do you know why there's a red thing next to my post? Does it mean that someone doesn't like me or my post?

That means that you have posted in this thread. When you have a red circle with a black dot in it it means that someone has posted a reply in this thread.

And don't waste too much money on digital cables. They're all the same. Unless you buy serious crap.

And analogika

I didn't spend too much on them. I saw some on eBay for about $6 each-shipped. Circuit City has them for $50-$60 USD each. The ones I got are good ones that cost about $35 for the pair - a TOSlink and a Digital Coaxial.
I wanted good cables but not El Cheapo ones. I'm glad I didn't fall for the expensive ones that claim to be so much better.
