With a RAM upgrade, would Motion run on the new Intel Mac Minis? (More to the point, how well would it run?)

Motion requires a powerfull graphic card since Core Video depends heavilly on the GPU.
I doubt that the Mac Mini would have enough graphic muscles to handle Motion.

Per example, I never got more than 18 fps on a year old PowerBook with 2 Gig of RAM.
But I didn't test it on a Mini...

Hmm. Thanks. I have heard that it won't run for lack of Core Video support.

The Intel Mac mini does indeed support Core Video... very slowly. It'd be interesting to see how slowly it ran on that machine once the Universal Binary is available.

i dont think it will run very well for the fact that the mac mini does not even have an ati card...
thus i wouldnt say it would be the best machine out there for motion..
i think the imacs have a better chance at that...and at $1000 more, i think the imac is the better way to go when it comes to choosing a machine to be used for motion, or visual graphics in general

I have a good mind to think that the min specs for Motion will be 'at least a dedicated graphics chip', and I reckon, like aperture if you have less than 1 gig of RAM, Apple will prevent you from running Motion on a system with integrated graphics.

you may be able to run it, it's just you won't be able to do anything with it.

In theory it is perfectly possible. In practice, however, you'll end up throwing you Mini out the window for a faster machine.

I repeat, it won't even install...and if I'm wrong and it does, you won't be able to do anything remotely useful with it.
