I was wondering if anyone had the Sony Cybershot DSC-N1 digital camera and if it worked well with a mac? Is it a good camera overall? I'm impressed that it has a high resolution and a 3 inch touchscreen. My brother wants me to take pictures of his wedding but I'm not a photographer at all. I thought a camera with a lot of automatic function and high megapixel count would do (its an 8.1) I know I should probably have a SLR for such an event, but I don't have time learn about manual photography. Any help would be appreciated!

just in case the wedding has not happened, please do you and your brother a favor and decline his request. well only if he wants you to be the "main photographer", especially with a point and shoot camera of that caliber. i know it's all about the photographer, but a wedding is a once in a lifetime event and you need the correct equipment and the skills and stamina to do a wedding. also... megapixels are not everything, especially in the point and shoot world.
but other than that, i am sure it is a fine camera, although you can probably do better depending on your needs.

MrForgetable is spot on... you should be prepared for bad photos.
Regarding the Sony, I wouldn't buy it. For $449-$500 (the price of the DSC-N1), I would pony up the $680 needed to pick up the Nikon D50... a REAL DSLR. It's the lowest quality DLSR there is, but it should be able to take better shots with auto mode as compared to the Sony.
You aren't going to get a depth of field with the Sony.

Believe me, I really don't want to do it and I tried to weesal my way out. I am aware that I simply don't have the proper skills for this. However, he absolutely insists. This isn't exactly a "Godfather" wedding. Think vegas with a reception.
Technically, this is a second in a lifetime event, since both the bride and groom were married before. I just hope my pictures aren't the cause for his second divorce! At any rate, someone is lending me a film SLR and a real photographer is giving me lessons today. This is ridiculous I know. If it doesn't turn out, at least I don't live in the same state as my brother.
I'm hoping I can correct photo issues with iphoto or photoshop elements 4.0. Ugh.
