Hi everybody ..

I have what I hope is a simple question ...

I have a midi keyboard ... and am using Audacity as a recorder. I need to get midi from my keyboard into Audacity. Audacity will only import a midi file ... so I need to get the midi from my keyboard onto the computer so Audacity can import it ..

Is there a cheap and easy program that can do this ??? The only one I/ve found so far is Intuem and its $80.00

Thanks for any info ...

I think, you confuse something...
Audacity allows the import of readdily created midi-files, a midi file is just the "notes" of some music; you need a sound-generator to listen to midi files...

your keyboard generates midi-"notes", but I'm afraid, Audacity doesn't allows a live-play-in... Audacity is mainly concepted for editing audio files, not data files (as midi)

use Garageband to "record" your keyboard strokes and import that midi-files into audacity...

Thanks for the reply ...

I don't have Garageband ... that's why I'm looking for a program to generate a midi file from my keyboard. Then I can import it into audacity ...
