Hey everyone...

This is Steve Friess from The Strip Podcast.

I've been using Audacity as my editor for quite a while, but today it decided to give me the following error while trying to save the file as an MP3: "Assertion (gfc->mf_size <= MFSIZE) failed in "lame.c" on line 1501"

I've dumped the software and reloaded it to no avail.

I'm in a bit of a rush- gotta get a podcast posted later tonight. Anyone have suggestions for easy-to-use audio editing software for Mac? Or an answer to why Audacity is doing this?

Seems like an error in the LAME encoder. Did you try re-installing that too?

You could also export it to AIFF and encode to MP3 with iTunes.

I've gotten that problem with Lame before. Try moving it to a different directory then locating it again in Audacity. If that doesn't work, you can do "Export to WAV" in Audacity and then convert that to mp3 using iTunes.
