Hello masters.
I use FCP HD and DVDSP to make photo based DVD's for clients on a regular basis.
However, a client gave me some VIDEO_TS.VOB and VTS_01_2.VOB files from a video recorder which records directly onto a mini dvd disc. Can i convert these files into something importable into Final Cut?
Thanks for any and all advise. I thought I saw a post a while ago here about this but couldn't find it.

I've been doing this today...found an app called MPEG Streamclip which worked for me.
Drag your .VOB in and File>Export to whatever format you want.

to handle VOBs with Streamclip, you need additionally the mpeg2 playback plug-in from Apple 20$
don't insert miniDVDs into slot-in drives...
and you will realize a (dramatic) loss in pic quality... mpegs are not meant for any processing, playback only format ...
other converters are:
DVDxDV (has a 30d tryout...)
Cinematize
mpeg2works

Hey thanks for the tip. I actually had MPEG Streamclip downloaded and installed, but didn't realize I was looking for it. The neccessary compressors and codecs are already installed because of FCP HD and DVDSP so should be good to go.
all the best
