Just wondering if anyone has had the chance to try Final Cut Studio 5.1 on either the Intel iMac or Mac Book Pro, and if so, if they could comment on the overall performance?

thanks

I just received my copy today. I'm using it on my G5. What a deal, Final Cut Sudio for $500.

Yes, we've got Final Cut Studio running on a 2GHz Intel iMac. It's working great so far.

I haven't done any benchmarking yet but my general impression is that it's noticeably faster than our 1st-gen 2GHz G5.

I've been waiting to see how it performs before deciding on whether to get a MBP, now I can say I have no reservations. (I also have no cash but that's another story )

thanks wulf,

I'm a semi-serious hobbyist and am thinking of getting an iMac. If you ever get bored and feel like doing a few "standard" performance tests, I would really like to hear about it.

I don't own FCS yet (and never used it), so I can't really suggest anything in particular to try.

In the end, I suspect that the 2GHz iMac should perform well, but it would be nice to hear from people who have used it before to get a fair comparison.

thanks again
