Darn, just realized this sub-forum was here, I was over on the Mini forum. ;-(

Anyway ...

A friend is considering building a DVR, I'm trying to convince him to use a Mac. Is the Mini a reasonable option? Any good how-to articles out there?

It's capable, but the 2.5" drive makes it sub-optimal; limited capacity and relatively pricey.
