So, I have this Bright Eyes album (I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning) on CD. It'll play in car stereos, on standalone CD players, but won't play in Macs. It's been tried in a Macbook Pro, an Intel iMac, and a G4 iMac. All of them will act as if playing the songs, but no sound will come out. The songs import into iTunes, but won't play. When re-burned, the won't play on Macs, but again will play on CD players.

Anybody else have this problem? I've only seen it on this CD. There's no indication that it's encoded weirdly or anything. Anybody?

ever heard of "copy protection"?

search cover of CD for the CD-DA logo ("compact disc digital audio"/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_disc )... you will NOT find! you paid good money for a "non-cd".... this disc doesn't fullfill the Redbook ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Boo...CD_standard%29 ) standards, so most computers (PC/Mac) will not play it... no import into iT possible... give it back to store.

Good to know. Also, it's not terribly necessary to start off replies with smart-ass remarks.

Thanks,

It seem the problem is copy protection and it is common nowadays since more company are relying on copy-protection to prevent duplicate and priracy.
