I am trying to autor my first dvd in dvd studio pro on my powermac g5. the project is finished and the simulations work perfectly. however, when i go to click burn, there is just a message box saying "formatting successful. formatting finished".

I have a blank dvd-r in the drive and i have done the build/format. what the f^&% is wrong with it. is the program corupted or is my newbishness making me miss a vital step??

thanks.
any help much appreciated

try deleting the iDVD preferences, the path iI found was for iDVD not the pro version but look for the prferences in the same spot or do a search. clost iDVD delete and empty trash then re-open and try again

you do know that even if you have done the build/format stage, when you burn you have to choose the format option, select the PAR folder (where the VIDEO_TS is located), witch you previously build, and then burn?

If this does't work maybe you could try to re-build/format the DVD from scratch. Is your computer's burner a DVD +/-R or just DVD-R do you have the right DVD?

hope it works
cheers

For starters, posting the same question in multiple forums is not recommended for it can cause some confusion.

Second, panicing is not going to solve any problem, in fact it can make things worse. And since this is your first DVDSP project, how much of the manuals have you read? What version of DVDSP are you using?

You were able to complete a project in DVDSP, and were able to build, which tells me that the software seems to be functioning properly to this point. How big is your project?

When you insert your blank DVD, what do you tell finder to do? Do you have the disc mount? Do you tell finder to ignore the disc? (I tell finder to ignore)

In DVDSP, are the build logs reporting any errors?
I gotta have more cowbell.
