Can't copy .dv file onto LaCie hard drive

Please help. I can not copy a 10 Gb. .dv file onto my LaCie USB hard drive. I get about half way and get an error stating it can't read or write some of the file?!

The drive is working correctly otherwise. Any suggestions?

It's a -36 error code if that helps.

what filesystem is on the hard drive?

I now see that is most likely my problem. Apperantly they have a 4 GB limit.
