5.8 GHZ Phones - Any Brand - Staticky

I've purchased 4 different 5.8 GHZ phone sets and I usually encounter static and disruptions, depending on where I am in the house. I experience the most static and disruption in the upstairs frontroom of my house and at the base unit, including the answering system. It's so bad I can't use the upstairs phone. My neighbors have no problems. It seems to get worse as time goes on. Any suggestions?
