Conerting .ra files and where to get Quicktime codecs

Is there any way of converting .ra files to mp3 with old mac os 9.2.2?

Also I have some avi files, but Quicktime won´t play them. QT says packaginf software was not found or something like that. I do get sound but no picture. Is there any other good avi player for os 9.2.2?
