Where does a external mic hookup on a G4 Mac

Can some tell me where a external mic can be hooked up for audio on a G4 Mac so I can do some narration for video.

It depends on which G4 you have. If it's a Quicksilver , there is no Mic in, and you'll need a USB audio adaptor to connect a microphone. Apple left out the Mic in port for who knows why out of this thing...
Other G4s, it's on the back, right next to sound out.

no audio in on the iMac G4, either.

Get a Griffin iMic if you want a simple, no-frills USB audio in.
