I understand the Final Cut upgrade gives you Final Cut 5.1, Soundtrack, DVD Studio Pro 4, Motion 2.1.....

When I purchased Final Cut Suite 4.5...the apple sales rep told me to purchase Final Cut Express 2.0 and he would give me the upgrade to a Final Cut Production Suite for 699....Back then Motion was not released so I purchased Motion 2 Academic Version later on since I was just enrolled in school...the final cut production suite I initially purchased is not an academic version*...its version 4.5 HD

My concern is that will the upgrade take care of Motion 2 Academic version?.

However you crossgrade, you will get Final Cut Studio...which includes Final Cut Pro 5, DVD Studio Pro 4, Motion 2, and Soundtrack Pro.

These particular pro-apps are only available for purchase as a set, therefore the crossgrade will include all of the above.

But I'm a bit confused by your post...if you already own FCP 4.5, then the crossgrade is only $199. I don't know why an apple rep would have you spend $300 for Final Cut Express, then another $699 for a crossgrade (which isn't offered as a crossgrade option).
