need advice on a good HDV cam for use with FCP

i am about to travel soon, and am looking for a new camcorder, preferably an HDV one, since i have a 1080p HDTV as well... can someone recommend me of a good camcorder that will work great with final cut pro?

I was looking at some of the sony's, and its about $1500... anything else?
