currently using flash video as its the most available to sites such as YouTube etc - but I read the Google take over may mean that YouTube moves over to Googles standard instead. Anyone got any idea if this will happen?

From the Business News source via DIGG

..For others the outcome will be interesting – both Google and YouTube use different technologies for rendering video. Google using its own proprietary player and YouTube uses the Adobe Flash 9 based player. The direction that Google-YouTube takes over the next few months will generate great interest for Adobe watchers....

I assume this will be moved, but I prefer YouTube's quality over Google's Flash video. Alas, it seems that will likely go buh-bye.

the google programmers are pretty good, so i'd expect them to develop a proprietary player and make it awesome.

I prefer Google's implementation. It seems like every other Youtube video has sync issues; some time ago I uploaded a video shot with a digital camera, 15fps, to both Youtube and Gvid, the Youtube video drifted horribly out of sync.
