Mp3 to WAV?

I am trying to copy an Mp3 file as a WAV. I can't seem to make it work through iTunes. Any suggestions?

iTunes --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Importing --> Import as... "WAV"

Then simply select the mp3 in iTunes and go to "Advanced" menu --> Convert to WAV
