I don't believe that QTPro will help you here.
If the songs that you are trying to convert to .mp3 are downloaded from the iTunes Music Store, then you will have to:
1. Burn music to a cd as AUDIO.
2. Import the now -AUDIO cd into iTunes, where they can now be burned as .mp3s
In the iTunes preferences under IMPORTING you can choose to import cds as .mp3 format. It will translate on the fly and show up as a .mp3 in your library.
I too would like to download as .mp3 format and avoid all this bull****, but as of yet, all of the websites that I've found, none of them support Macs. I haven't yet found an app to translate iTunes mp4 format to mp3 (and that's just the way Apple likes it !).
