I have a large (777mb/52mins) Windows Media Video (WMV) file on my Mac. I need to convert it into a format that I can edit on iMovie.

I have tried a couple of downloadable programs and they are all rubbish. Can someone tell me where to download a program that can convert a WMV file to an iMovie-usable format as simply and easily as possible?

depends on the WMV version. visualhub may do it, ffmpegx may do it, if not they you need flip4mac's WMV component (and probably not the free version).

And if the file has DRM (digital rights management), nothing for mac can play or convert it :-/
